What Counts as “Innovative”
The company must meet one of the following:
Backed by a government innovation agency (e.g. FINEP, CNPq)
Located in a tech park or incubator
Finalist in a government startup program
Accelerated by a Brazilian incubator
Or: demonstrate originality, reach, and value creation (Art. 3 §2).
Visit Brazil once every 2 years to maintain status
After 3 years: report results and become eligible for permanent residency Art. 10
